Old Santa Fe - Cynde Christie Watercolors

Downtown Santa Fe feeds my painter’s imagination with its four hundred plus years old buildings surrounding the historic plaza and still in use today. They are just as beautiful as when they were new, maybe even more so, as I love the look of the brick peeking out of the crumbled hundred-year adobe. When the natives built downtown, they said that adobe should last one hundred years; clearly, their engineering talents far exceeded their expectations, for which I am most grateful. Santa Fe is my land of history and hollyhocks.

Some of my work inspired by Santa Fe and New Mexico.
